A Few Words from Sue
As we move into the fall and winter months, I find myself feeling the changing of the seasons in a very different way this year.
For nearly four decades, Israel Shotridge -Kinstaadaal was my beloved husband, my business partner, my best friend, my companion in life and in our work.
We shared a life filled with family, art, music, travel, challenges, laughter, and a deep love for his Tlingit culture and the work he was so gifted to create.
Israel is no longer here beside me, and there are moments when that reality still feels impossible. I miss him everyday- the conversations, the laughter, his quiet presence, and simply knowing he was there. As the seasons change, I am reminded that life has changed too. Yet I also feel incredibly grateful for the years we had and for the beautiful legacy we created together.
To all of you who have followed our journey, supported our work, collected Israel's art, visited our gallery, or simply appreciated what he brought into the world- thank you. Your messages, stories, memories, and kindness have meant more to me than I can say. I am learning to carry this next chapter one day at a time, while doing my best to honor Israel, his art, his culture, and the life we shared.
